The intelligent ear tag for sows with integrated temperature and motion sensor
BioTag+ is an innovative solution for constant sow monitoring that provides information on health, heat detection, and imminent farrowing.
The new ear tag comes with two integrated sensors that constantly record the specific sow’s temperature and movement. The OrbitX IoT gateway sends this data to the cloud, where an AI algorithm analyzes and transmits the data to your smartphone, tablet or PC via the BFN Fusion farm management system. This helps you know when to inseminate sows in the service center, for example.
Sows are often kept in groups in the gestation and service area and, increasingly, while they’re lactating. BioTag+ provides ideal support for the latter case. The system is able to determine the upcoming farrowing around twelve hours in advance because of continuous data recording and analysis.

The software’s modular design makes it possible to control an unlimited number of feeding stations and connect additional systems, such as heat detection, without the need for further control elements. All the data from individual houses is displayed in graphical format.
