Big Dutchman releases 2025 Sustainability report
Together, we can create a more sustainable future across the world
February 20, 2026
Big Dutchman is proud to announce the release of our 2025 sustainability report. This is our second report, and it reflects our long-standing commitment to responsible business practices from all Big Dutchman regions across the globe, outlining the steps we are taking to ensure a more sustainable future for generations to come.
At Big Dutchman, sustainability has always been embedded in our values – since our beginnings as a family-owned business to becoming a global leader in agricultural solutions. Our sustainability initiatives are focused on reducing our environmental footprint, supporting our employees and partners, and upholding strong ethical business practices.
Highlights from the 2025 ESG report:
- Reducing Carbon Footprint: We have taken concrete steps to lower our emissions, including investing in photovoltaic systems at our German headquarters, providing a fleet of electric vehicles and a variety of bikes available for employees to lease, and working with green suppliers that support our sustainability initiatives.
- Sustainable Innovation: Our headquarters have implemented a “Design Guideline” project, which includes a new technical design guideline. This guideline creates a standardized basis for sustainable product design across the entire Big Dutchman group. It also includes seven chapters that cover the entire development process, from early innovation, all the way to environmental impact and resource efficiency. This initiative ensures the reduction of waste, emissions, and material consumption over the entire lifecycle of our products.
- Commitment to Social Responsibility: With over 3,500 employees across 48 nations, we are dedicated to fostering diversity, providing career development opportunities, and ensuring ethical labor practices throughout our supply chain. We recognize that our employees have different needs, and these extend outside of the work environment. As a family business, we are committed to creating an environment that encourages employees not just in their work lives, but in their personal lives, and finding a balance that supports them.
- Compliance Guidelines: Compliance guidelines and codes of conduct have been set in place as clear guidelines for employees and suppliers. Our compliance guideline, which has been applicable since 2016, helps employees to recognize and avoid risks at an early stage and deal with risks if necessary. Suppliers are required to comply with a separate code of conduct that covers social, ecological, and ethical standards for responsible business behavior.
This report is just the beginning of our ongoing journey to create a positive impact in the agriculture industry and the world.
