General Overview of Responsibilities:
- Regularly contact customers regarding any service or purchasing needs.
- During the pre-sales process, in cooperation with the sales team, act as the primary BDP representative to go on-site to confirm with the customer specific equipment requirements, including design and layout.
- Install, inspect, service and repair equipment in the field while under general supervision of the Vice President Pig Business.
- Perform the duties of site manager if required at multi-house installations. This includes inventory management and general project coordination with customer service.
- Conduct follow-up visits to installations to ensure proper system function.
- Provide after sale technical support and service as required.
- Conduct customer, distributor, and installer training on system installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Recommend improvements to product ensuring ease of installation, improved function and cost reduction.
- Maintains frequent contact with the main office to receive assignments and review service problems.
- Write service reports from findings in the field.
- Refers more complex customer relationship problems to the Vice President Pig Business Unit.
- Oversee installation process at various levels depending on our responsibility.
- Coordinate independent contract installation crews.
- Work closely with the customer Project Manager to develop and administer processes to better manage installations.
- Work with the Pig Department to reduce warranty expense while improving customer satisfaction.
General Overview of Qualifications:
- Three-Five years’ service experience in livestock equipment.
- High level of technical aptitude including electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficient and diplomatic with oral and written communication with customers.
- Travel as required in the USA and Canada to accomplish the Job Duties.
- Estimated to be 50%-75%.
- Travel will require trips from overnight to 5 days, depending on location and the customer’s requirements. Long distance will be necessary.
- Occasional travel to Big Dutchman-Germany will be required to learn the technical aspects of the equipment.
- Willing to work irregular hours including weekends, if required.
- General knowledge of common PC software including: MS Word, MS Excel and e-mail.
